Volunteer

St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry

I volunteered at a food pantry, my job being to count the amount of food/items in a family's cart. I then had to check their card to make sure they weren't over their item limit, and I had to remind them if they had less than their item limit.

Skills

I speak English, and I am currently in a French I course. Leadership wise, I tend to have to the urge to be a leader in everyday situations that includes being a role model for children and making sure that, in a team based environment, everyone is on task. When it comes to communication, I like to listen to myself and take in mind what I want and strive to do, but I have passion for anything that I am assigned to. I have a few computer skills that include: typing quickly, being able to fix easy issues, and giving computer advice for different kinds of problems that may occur. I adapt quickly to different types of environments seeing as I went from a private, Catholic school to a public, diverse school. In school, I prefer to work alone, but in work and team based environments, I enjoy adapting to the environment and making sure that my part of the job gets finished well.

Interest

I have an interest in cooking; I took a Nutrition and Wellness course my freshman year that included 5+ projects that involved cooking and baking while the rest of the semester was used to learn about different foods and utensils. For my interest in technology, I must note that I am not anywhere near "tech savvy," but I know the basic concepts and can use technology to my advantage when needed. I have an interest in literature that includes reading Shakespeare, S.E. Hinton, Stephen King, J.K. Rowling, and Agatha Christie. I enjoy traveling, and I have traveled to numerous states that consist of Ohio, Illinois, Virginia, Maryland, Missouri, Florida, and Georgia.
